I provide expert advice and consulting on gender and security —particularly in the equalities implications of emerging technologies and cybersecurity governance, practice, and digital policy. On an occassional basis, I also provide advice to national security organisations on the gender implications of broader security policies.
I’ve worked with organizations such as the UN Institute for Disarmament Research (UNIDIR), the Organization of American States (OAS), Chatham House, various national governments and numerous civil society organisations on gender, security, and/or technology projects related to the gender-responsive implementation of the UN cyber norms, intersectional gender analysis of the UN Cybercrime Convention, and intersectionally-inclusive cybernorm and policy development, amongst others.
My consulting work ranges from authoring policy toolkits and advising on international frameworks to developing and providing training for military, diplomatic, and policy audiences. Across all projects, I focus on advancing intersectional, feminist-informed approaches to security and ensuring that global digital governance reflects a wide range of experiences, vulnerabilities, capacities, and priorities - especially of people and communities frequently absent from conventional security policymaking.
